I love this system because there are 21 growing spaces so I can grow plenty of herbs as well as other veggies. It holds two gallons of water so I don’t have to water all the time. It also allows an external watering source that the system will automatically draw from when the water gets low. BENEHORTI is a great start up company and they have the best customer service.

I have an aero garden aquaponic system I’ve used for years, but it needs frequent refill once the plant grow to a large size. The plants would dry out if I go on vacation for a week. I got this larger hydroponic system to replace it. The thing that made me pick this over the other ones I was looking at was the automatic water refill and automatic fertilizing. It allows me to be truly hands off for a long duration without worry.

The kit has 21 pots, which I think it’s a bit overkill since the plants will start crowding. If you’re planting narrow herbs that goes straight up, that would work. The herb I’m most interested in is Thai basil, which spreads out like a tree. In my old hydroponic, I can only grow two. This one I can grow about 5 spaced out. I recommend covering the openings that you’re not using to minimize water loss to evaporation. I used the included humidity covers and they sit nicely upside on the openings.

Another improvement on this hydroponic system is the lights. It’s much brighter (twice the wattage) and the light can be adjusted way higher. This allows for much more vertical space for the plant to grow. My old one constantly hit the light and requires trimming.

Overall this was a huge improvement over my old hydroponic system. We like having access to fresh herbs in our kitchen year round and it’s pest free.

So it does work, plants do not have enough room to grow in this thing. Filling all 21 pods with any plant that grows taller than 10 cm means they crowd each other out. I've noticed on their website theres a 2 pod plate for it now for 'big' plants. Realistically thats probably the amount of plants this can grow, 2.

Great for sprouting seedlings.

I have been used this Automated Hydroponics System for 10days. As my experiences firstly, it’s very easier to use, this is kid of automatically filling water, and just adding nutrients( they are included) and turn on automatically LED light with cycling pump system
I plant some tomato some chill, some lettuces they are growing very fast and looks pretty. The LED system have two planting modes for fruits & flowers and veggies&herbs, I’m plating vegetables so I set up as veggies model. overall, it has 19 inch telescopic pole. It’s great for tomato and chill. I’m totally like it. Looks my home so pretty and really easy to use it

Been looking around for a good hydroponic planter for herbs to use in the kitchen, well I found this. But so far I don’t see any issues. What I love about it is that you can use your phone to control the light, cycle the pump and nutrients and monitor your water level, making growing herbs a lot easier. You should try this!

Frequently Asked Questions

Benehorti gardens offer a simple and enjoyable way to grow your own herbs, vegetables, salad greens, or flowers at home. Our Seed Pod Kits are compatible with every model of Benehorti raised bed. Planting with Seed Pods is easy and hassle-free! Just insert the pre-seeded pods into your raised bed, add water, and the specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and beyond. Indoor gardening has never been easier or more delicious!

In your Benehorti pod, you have a versatile space to grow a variety of plants. Leafy salad greens and most herbs are perfect for the pod, and you can pack them densely for continuous harvesting. Plants like silverbeet, spinach, parsley, chard, and lettuce thrive in the pod.

Additionally, root vegetables will flourish in the full foot of soil provided by the pod. You can grow rooty veggies like carrots, radishes, and beets with ease.

For winter crops, brassicas such as cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, and kale are excellent choices for your pod.

While the pod is perfect for a wide range of plants, it's not suitable for shrubs and fruit trees.

Feel free to explore the countless examples on our social media pages to see what fellow Benehorti podders are growing in their pods.

Lastly, we recommend using the GardenAte website and app, a valuable Australian resource that provides planting advice based on your climate zone, helping you make the most of your gardening experience.

At Benehorti, different types of plants have consistent germination timeframes:

Flowers: 7-12 days

Salads: 5-8 days

Herbs: 5-15 days

Fruiting vegetables (e.g., tomatoes, peppers): 7-14 days

We are committed to ensuring a successful gardening experience for you. If any of your seed pods do not germinate within 21 days, please contact us, and we will promptly send you a replacement under our 100% germination guarantee.

Rest assured that with Benehorti, you can enjoy a reliable and rewarding gardening journey with seeds that germinate efficiently and grow into healthy plants.

Plant lifespans are similar to growing plants in any other environment. The duration of a plant's life depends on factors such as the plant type, care, and harvesting.

Here are the typical lifespans for different plant varieties in a Benehorti raised bed:

Flowers: 4-5 months, but they can last longer with proper care.

Lettuces & Greens: About 4 months.

Herbs: 3-4 months, but some herbs like basil can last even longer, especially with regular pruning and harvesting.

Fruiting vegetables (e.g., tomatoes, peppers): Usually around 12 months. With proper care, they can continue growing beyond that.

Remember that providing consistent care, tending, and harvesting will impact the longevity of your plants. Enjoy the journey of nurturing your plants with Benehorti and watch them flourish throughout their life cycles.

In a Benehorti hydroponics system, we do not recommend reusing the sponges as their effectiveness may decrease with each use. Additionally, using sponges from previous plants could introduce harmful bacteria and potentially lead to disease.

However, you can reuse the white baskets and blackout covers after thorough cleaning. To support environmental sustainability, we offer cost-effective sponge refill packs at a discounted price on our official website, www.benehorti.com, or at the store where you purchased your hydroponics system. This way, you can ensure the best results for your plants while being environmentally conscious.

The water pump generally does not require regular cleaning. However, we recommend cleaning the pump and its filter sponge after at least six months of use. Here's how you can clean the water pump:

Turn off the power and unplug the power cord.

Open the pump cover by pressing the latch on the side of the water pump.

Take out the sponge in front of the water pump and rinse it with clean water. Avoid using detergents to maintain the nutrient balance. If the sponge is heavily soiled, consider rinsing the entire water pump by soaking it in clean water and gently shaking to remove debris.

Reassemble the components and restart the machine.

If you need instructions for disassembling the water pump for deep cleaning, please contact us, and we will provide you with a cleaning guide.

For cleaning the interior of the water tank, use a soft, damp cloth or wet wipes to wipe away any dirt or debris. Turn off the power, unplug the cord, and remove the light board and extendable rod. Rinse the water tank with clean water, avoiding the use of detergents as they may affect plant growth. During cleaning, ensure that the light board, extendable rod, and power port stay dry to avoid circuit damage. Also, prevent direct contact between the hydroponics system's screen (MAX/PRO) and water.
