We are using this tank for our first Betta Fish.
It’s pretty fun, though you need to keep an eye on the water levels.
I found recently (after having this a couple months) some small flies are hanging around the bean sprouts. Yuck.
It’s mostly easy to clean, the water coming back into the tank can be a bit much for the little betta, but it goes in and off.
I wish it had a bigger area to feed the fish, or maybe a lid that was easier to move without being a big mess and hassle with all the water.

Never showed up + no responses

I ordered this 12/28, it is now 2/4. I reached out a couple weeks later for an update and never got a response. I then got an automatic notification that my order had shipped on 1/17. To this day, two weeks later from the shipping email, that link still only says the only a label has been created, no item received by FedEx. I have sent a couple of requests for an update with my shipping number, order number, email etc and have not received any updates to any outreach attempts. Stay away, don’t expect to get my item or my money back.

I love this set up. I would guess probably a five gallon aquarium size. I put a Beta fish in the bottom of this one with some gravel. It does push the fish around from the air but it doesn't seem to mind it. I followed directions and have the cloth over my bean sprouts and they are growing. I can't wait , then I have my lettuce, spinach and one cucumber growing on a paper towel to sprout. This is a lot of fun to do and can't wait to set up my 20 gallon aquarium to raise Tilapia in the bottom of that one and my lettuce on top. Fish grow up then we will eat those. Life is great!!! Then start over again with that process.

I really appreciate how easy it is to set up if you already have plants to put in it. Unfortunately my kids purchased fish that grow too big for such a small tank. Overall good set up but keep in mind plants take time to grow and you’ll need to make sure fish tank is maintained to properly fertilize your plants.

Great for a beginner hydroponic set, really has everything included! (Other than life that will live within)

I have been able to use this for both propigation and regular growth. Bok choy, basil, and mint have flurished. My betta Adesanya has been regularly blowing bubble nests and swimming about, I also have a ghost shrimp and nerite snail all cohabiting quite nicely. None of the creatures have had an issue with the small current created, but I would suggest positioning the filter with rocks blocking it just in case.

The negatives I have for the product are the instructions. I feel it should include more of a guide on how to properly care for the product and more accurate information on amounts to add.

Frequently Asked Questions

Benehorti gardens offer a simple and enjoyable way to grow your own herbs, vegetables, salad greens, or flowers at home. Our Seed Pod Kits are compatible with every model of Benehorti raised bed. Planting with Seed Pods is easy and hassle-free! Just insert the pre-seeded pods into your raised bed, add water, and the specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and beyond. Indoor gardening has never been easier or more delicious!

In your Benehorti pod, you have a versatile space to grow a variety of plants. Leafy salad greens and most herbs are perfect for the pod, and you can pack them densely for continuous harvesting. Plants like silverbeet, spinach, parsley, chard, and lettuce thrive in the pod.

Additionally, root vegetables will flourish in the full foot of soil provided by the pod. You can grow rooty veggies like carrots, radishes, and beets with ease.

For winter crops, brassicas such as cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, and kale are excellent choices for your pod.

While the pod is perfect for a wide range of plants, it's not suitable for shrubs and fruit trees.

Feel free to explore the countless examples on our social media pages to see what fellow Benehorti podders are growing in their pods.

Lastly, we recommend using the GardenAte website and app, a valuable Australian resource that provides planting advice based on your climate zone, helping you make the most of your gardening experience.

At Benehorti, different types of plants have consistent germination timeframes:

Flowers: 7-12 days

Salads: 5-8 days

Herbs: 5-15 days

Fruiting vegetables (e.g., tomatoes, peppers): 7-14 days

We are committed to ensuring a successful gardening experience for you. If any of your seed pods do not germinate within 21 days, please contact us, and we will promptly send you a replacement under our 100% germination guarantee.

Rest assured that with Benehorti, you can enjoy a reliable and rewarding gardening journey with seeds that germinate efficiently and grow into healthy plants.

Plant lifespans are similar to growing plants in any other environment. The duration of a plant's life depends on factors such as the plant type, care, and harvesting.

Here are the typical lifespans for different plant varieties in a Benehorti raised bed:

Flowers: 4-5 months, but they can last longer with proper care.

Lettuces & Greens: About 4 months.

Herbs: 3-4 months, but some herbs like basil can last even longer, especially with regular pruning and harvesting.

Fruiting vegetables (e.g., tomatoes, peppers): Usually around 12 months. With proper care, they can continue growing beyond that.

Remember that providing consistent care, tending, and harvesting will impact the longevity of your plants. Enjoy the journey of nurturing your plants with Benehorti and watch them flourish throughout their life cycles.

In a Benehorti hydroponics system, we do not recommend reusing the sponges as their effectiveness may decrease with each use. Additionally, using sponges from previous plants could introduce harmful bacteria and potentially lead to disease.

However, you can reuse the white baskets and blackout covers after thorough cleaning. To support environmental sustainability, we offer cost-effective sponge refill packs at a discounted price on our official website, www.benehorti.com, or at the store where you purchased your hydroponics system. This way, you can ensure the best results for your plants while being environmentally conscious.

The water pump generally does not require regular cleaning. However, we recommend cleaning the pump and its filter sponge after at least six months of use. Here's how you can clean the water pump:

Turn off the power and unplug the power cord.

Open the pump cover by pressing the latch on the side of the water pump.

Take out the sponge in front of the water pump and rinse it with clean water. Avoid using detergents to maintain the nutrient balance. If the sponge is heavily soiled, consider rinsing the entire water pump by soaking it in clean water and gently shaking to remove debris.

Reassemble the components and restart the machine.

If you need instructions for disassembling the water pump for deep cleaning, please contact us, and we will provide you with a cleaning guide.

For cleaning the interior of the water tank, use a soft, damp cloth or wet wipes to wipe away any dirt or debris. Turn off the power, unplug the cord, and remove the light board and extendable rod. Rinse the water tank with clean water, avoiding the use of detergents as they may affect plant growth. During cleaning, ensure that the light board, extendable rod, and power port stay dry to avoid circuit damage. Also, prevent direct contact between the hydroponics system's screen (MAX/PRO) and water.
